Not just a fashion

In the modern world of high technology, globalization and life in megacities, it is more important than ever to preserve those components of our culture that embody the individuality of the nation, our spiritual appearance and are the subject of our pride.

The wealth of Ukrainian embroidered embodies many techniques for creating ornaments. Each region of our country managed to make its mark on the history of Ukrainian national costume by reflecting its traditions, rites, geographical and ethnic features, artistic and aesthetic worldview. Not only every region of Ukraine, but even individual villages, where shirts can differ in style, color, pattern, can boast of their special embroidered shirts.

Previously, embroideries were made from hemp and linen. Now, products with Ukrainian embroidery are made from the finest polished linen, silk, velvet and other textural and flying fabrics, which allows you to seamlessly blend into a modern wardrobe.

Lviv region

Embroidery, characteristic for Lviv region, could combine several different patterns at once (both geometric and plant).

Ivano-Frankivsk region

In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, geometric ornaments of various colors of threads has used, so embroidered shirts from this region are considered one of the most striking.

Chernihiv region

In addition to embroidered clothing, Ukraine has long been famous for its weaving craft. The main materials for weaving were linen, hemp and wool. In Right-Bank Ukraine, a geometric ornament was more often used. Left-bank Ukraine preferred floral patterns.

Kiev region

Most often used ornaments in Kiev region are patterns in the form of plant ornaments — vines, hops, as well as geometric patterns of rhombuses and squares. To highlight the individual elements of the pattern, they are often "encircled" with black thread.

Few other national costumes have so skillfully and competently integrated into the current fashion and become an integral attribute of a modern wardrobe. As well as a trend that keeps up with modern tendency and brings life to the traditions and culture of our nation.
