Each region of our country managed to make its mark on the history of Ukrainian national costume by reflecting its traditions, rites, geographical and ethnic features, artistic and aesthetic worldview. Previously, embroideries were made from hemp and linen. Now, products with Ukrainian embroidery are made from the finest polished linen, silk, velvet and other textural and flying fabrics, which allows you to seamlessly blend into a modern wardrobe.
Lviv region
Embroidery, characteristic for Lviv region, could combine several different patterns at once (both geometric and plant).
Ivano-Frankivsk region
In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, geometric ornaments of various colors of threads has used, so embroidered shirts from this region are considered one of the most striking.
Chernihiv region
In addition to embroidered clothing, Ukraine has long been famous for its weaving craft. The main materials for weaving were linen, hemp and wool. In Right-Bank Ukraine, a geometric ornament was more often used. Left-bank Ukraine preferred floral patterns.
Kiev region
Most often used ornaments in Kiev region are patterns in the form of plant ornaments — vines, hops, as well as geometric patterns of rhombuses and squares. To highlight the individual elements of the pattern, they are often "encircled" with black thread.
